JBJS EST Pediatric Trauma Collection Now Available

Pediatric Trauma EST videos

JBJS Essential Surgical Techniques (EST), in collaboration with CORTICES and with the support of POSNA, is pleased to present the “JBJS EST Pediatric Trauma Collection,” an online resource of video-based articles demonstrating the surgical treatment of both common and less frequently encountered fractures in children. The collection features longstanding and cutting-edge procedures that can be utilized at the point of care by on-call physicians, whether pediatric orthopaedists or generalists, to improve fracture management in this important population.

The surgical treatment of fractures in a pediatric population requires a substantially different approach from that in the adult population. The surgeon must focus on the dynamic properties of the immature skeleton, balancing the potential for further growth with the need to stably fix the fracture.

Articles in the series provide up-close video guidance on the steps of each procedure along with summary text, expected outcomes, important tips, and related references for further reading.

The articles are freely available at JBJS.org for a limited time. Click here to access the full collection. Or use the following links to access individual articles of interest within the series:
