About OrthoBuzz

OrthoBuzz is the official blog of The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, one of the most trusted names in orthopaedics. On OrthoBuzz, you’ll find highlights of the latest research, insights from members of the orthopaedic community, and key announcements from JBJS, including posts that take you inside the organization and introduce you to individuals who help make JBJS a leader in the field.

Launched in 2013, OrthoBuzz provides timely updates and discussion alongside the JBJS family of journals. Posts include perspectives from senior JBJS Editorial Board members and guest contributors—surgeons, researchers, residents, and others engaged in musculoskeletal patient care. Represented on OrthoBuzz are both invited pieces and open submissions, with additional curated content from the OrthoBuzz editorial team. Dr. Matthew R. Schmitz, JBJS Senior Editor for Pediatrics and Social Media, currently serves as the editorial advisor. While edited for clarity and relevance, OrthoBuzz content does not undergo formal peer review.
