JBJS has acquired Miller’s Orthopaedic Review Course Oxford, an established FRCS (Tr & Orth) exam preparation program with 17 years of experience preparing candidates for the examination.
The acquisition expands JBJS educational offerings and comes as the Oxford course introduces a new way for candidates to participate. For 2027, the program will offer its lecture course both in Oxford, UK, and virtually, making the educational content accessible to candidates worldwide. 2027 course and registration information can be found here.
“The acquisition of Miller’s Orthopaedic Review Course Oxford reflects the JBJS commitment to supporting orthopaedic professionals with high-quality educational resources throughout their careers. By adding a virtual option, we are pleased to make this established program accessible to an even broader community of FRCS candidates around the world,” said JBJS CEO Jason Miller.
Candidates preparing for the 2027 FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination now have three options from JBJS MRC Oxford:
- Complete In-Person Course: January 5-10, 2027, at the University of Oxford, including four days of expert-led lectures and the weekend Clinical Exam & Viva Course. Access to the 2027 Virtual Event website is also included.
- New Virtual Lecture Course: January 5-8, 2027, featuring four days of live-streamed lectures from the Oxford course, with on-demand access until April 10, 2027. The addition of the virtual format represents a major step in broadening access to the Oxford course for candidates around the globe.
- In-Person Clinical Exam & Viva Course: January 9-10, 2027, at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, offering two intensive days focused specifically on the clinical exam and viva components of the FRCS (Tr & Orth), with opportunities to practice under exam-style conditions.
Miller’s Orthopaedic Review Course Oxford reports a 99% overall pass rate for past attendees and offers a free course retake, subject to terms and conditions.
“We are excited to begin this next chapter with JBJS and to give candidates greater flexibility in how they prepare for the FRCS examination. The new virtual format allows participants to experience the Oxford lectures live, wherever they are located,” said Professor Tom Cosker, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Oxford and the Course Organizer.
