The problem patients face is:
1) inadequate pain control
2) pain managing options, besides drugs, are not covered by insurance. If patients are still in need of pain control options, quite often they have to first find some other option, second find a pain management provider, last they may need to pay cash for treatment.
I think the media, government, and medical community are throwing patients under the bus. It’s not a fair or accurate conclusion that simply limiting pain medication will erase pain— it doesn’t.
