They discuss the formation and work of IODA, an international collaboration launched in 2019, whose mission is “to champion diversity, equity and inclusion in orthopaedics worldwide.”
IODA began as a group of advocates from 30 nations interested in working together to amplify diversity efforts. The organization now has more than 1,000 members and 10,000 followers, says Dr. Green. IODA membership is free and open to all in the health-care sector.
OrthoBuzz readers can learn more about this global organization at the IODA website.
The OrthoJOE conversation further delves into advances that have been made, and work still to be done, toward diversity in orthopaedics and toward the goal of equity in health care—and how OrthoJOE listeners can join this effort.
