JBJS is pleased to welcome Dr. Mohit (Mo) Bhandari as our new Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Bhandari succeeds Dr. Marc Swiontkowski, who has served as Editor-in-Chief since 2014. Dr. Bhandari joined JBJS in April and officially stepped into his new role on June 1.
As the incoming Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Bhandari shares a message with the JBJS community in both a new editorial and a video accompanying the article.

Dr. Bhandari extends great thanks to his colleague and mentor, Dr. Swiontkowski. Looking ahead, he reflects on many exciting opportunities for JBJS. These include advancing the impact of JBJS as an orthopaedic journal around the world; continuing to embody the brand of JBJS as a global journal for all in the practice of musculoskeletal care; emphasizing creativity and finding novel ways to serve readers and the global community of surgeons; and applying data to evidence-based decision-making.
He invites those in orthopaedics to “Think JBJS” — when undertaking a new project you’re passionate about, to share an editorial idea, or when completing research work with practice-changing potential, whether it be a large observational study, collaborative RCT, a meta-analysis, or case report.
“At JBJS, we are driven by the mission of improving musculoskeletal health across the globe by delivering gold standard information,” he writes in the editorial. “I will serve JBJS’s mission with dedication to and respect for its 135-year history. We will face whatever tomorrow brings with optimism, agility, inclusivity, and, above all, a culture of creativity.” Read the editorial at JBJS.org:
