OrthoBuzz is pleased to share recent news from JBJS Open Access:
JBJS Open Access has been selected for inclusion in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) by Clarivate. JBJS Open Access publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed open access articles of interest to the orthopaedic community worldwide. The journal will receive its first impact factor later this year.
New Review Article Type
JBJS Open Access is now accepting review articles for publication. These articles offer insights into the existing clinical and scientific evidence, taking the form of narrative reviews, critical analysis reviews, and systematic reviews.
The new review article type expands on established JBJS Open Access content. Since its founding in 2016, the international online journal has published clinical and basic science research articles with the potential to impact musculoskeletal treatment and patient care. In 2020, Open Access broadened its offerings to include education-focused content in the AOA Critical Issues in Education section through a partnership with the American Orthopaedic Association.
